Admission Procedure
College of Teacher Education, Mangaldai follows a transparent and merit-based admission process for the two-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) course under Gauhati University.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must have passed a Bachelor’s degree under the 10+2+3 (B.A./B.Sc./B.Com.) pattern or a Master’s degree in Arts, Science, or Commerce.
- Minimum 50% marks for General category and 45% for SC/ST/OBC/MOBC candidates.
- In-service teachers deputed by the Govt. of Assam may be considered as per NCTE norms.
Seat Capacity
The total intake capacity is 50 students (One basic unit) as approved by NCTE.
Selection Process
- The Government of Assam selects a list of teachers from secondary schools for admission on a first-come, first-served basis.
- If seats remain vacant, they are filled by candidates selected through the Gauhati University B.Ed. entrance test.
How to Apply
- Obtain the prescribed application form from the college office or download from the official website (if available).
- Fill in the application form carefully and attach all required documents (mark sheets, certificates, etc.).
- Submit the completed application form to the college office within the notified period.
- Shortlisted candidates will be notified for counseling/admission as per merit and reservation norms.
Admission Timeline
The tentative time for admission is July every year. Exact dates are notified on the college notice board and website.
